Clicker training is a fantastic way to train your dog. It is suitable for all breeds and all ages and can be particularly effective if your dog is easily distracted and needs a bit of extra help focusing.

How does it work?

Very simply, every time your dog offers you the correct behaviour he hears a click. That click is then followed by a small food reward.

Why is clicker so effective?

Clicker works because the sound of the clicker marks the exact time the correct behaviour is performed and therefore there are no grey areas for your dog. The message is clear and simple and is much easier to understand for your dog than a human voice. Unlike our voices the sound of the clicker is always the same and always means the same: if I hear that sound, I will get a reward. Clicker training can be used to train an unlimited range of behaviours from a simple sit to getting your dog to empty your washing machine: once your dog is clicker trained, the world is your oyster!
